B. Background Summary
---------------------
Stavit grew up on Vulcan with his parents who were both Professors at the Vulcan Science Academy. Stavit joined the Academy reluctantly under pressure form both of his parents but always thought that science could
only be truly explored in the field.

At 25 he achieved his Doctorate and stayed on to teach. He has written papers on Warp Field Theory, Transwarp theory and Time Travel theory. Stavit became a leader in his field after only a few years and his
theories  are thought to be radical but full of merit.

At 29 Stavit decided that he wanted to pursue a career of exploration. He approached Starfleet and was offered a post on a Vulcan Science ship however he decided he would rather serve on a Starfleet vessel as a
Starfkeet officer. Stavit new that Starships were at the forefront of exploration so he enrolled at the Academy and rather than study engneering or the sciences, he decided to indulge in one of desires and train to
be a pilot.

In 2258, Stavit lost his parents and his new wife during the Nero incident on Vulcan. He went to the new Vulcan colony for the memorial services but declined to retake his post at the Science Academy deciding that
the logical course was to continue his pursuit of exploration with Starfleet. He studied the data on the time phenomenon created by the Nero incident from the logs retrieved during encounters with Neros ship on
behalf of Starfleet but a few months later all material was made classified and he was moved of the project due to his new position in Starfleet.

Stavit graduated and was assigned to the USS Endeavour.

Stavit is of sound mind and is capable of handling the stress of being a Starfleet officer. He does however have some issues with interaction with other people. If they do not share his interests or stimulate
him, he tends to make excuses to leave the social situation be on his own. Stavit could do with interacting more with other crew members especially as he works so far from home.
