PHYSICAL ORGANIZATION
SFSECIS Headquarters is located in SB Alpha orbiting Wolf 359. The Service maintains a presence throughout Alpha and Beta Quadrants with 13 divisional field offices on each capital star base. The Support Operations Directorate is located on the campus of Star Fleet Command, San Francisco, Terra/Sol-III. SFSECIS is centrally managed and resourced from Headquarters; the operational missions are executed in a decentralized manner by divisional field offices, Major Case Response Teams, Support Departments and their subordinate components.
Divisional Field Offices are centralized on each capital starbase, led by an Assistant Deputy Director who maintains overall service responsibility for all personnel assigned. The core law enforcement component of a Field Office is the Major Case Response Team (MCRT) – see the Major Case Response Team section for further details.
The Support Operations Divisions (SOD) provide valuable logistical, forensics and administrative resources to enable field agents to successfully execute the law enforcement, protective and counter-intelligence missions of the service. SODs are centralized by function and provide billeted personnel to field offices as caseloads demand for short-term or indefinite assignments.
