Prologue

Everything had changed. A doorway has opened.

The ships are legendary: Enterprise...Yorktown...Lexington...Constellation...Farragut...

The names are heroic: Pike...Kirk...Decker...Tracey...Garrovik...

A doorway has opened that cannot be closed. What were once legends are again only metal and conduit. Who were once heroes are again only mortals.

A new path has begun. The time to become legends again, to become heroes again, is now.

A new beginning has arrived. Join us.

Introduction

ASR: ORIGINS is a "free thread," an offshoot outside of the normal writing environment of ASR.

The ORIGINS universe is an "alternate timeline"- specifically, the one created by the Romulan Nero's travel back through time and his subsequent actions. The setting is the year 2260, roughly equivalent to the time period of The Original Series. As such, many of the names we have come to know and love are with us again.

However, because Nero's actions have changed history, everything is "new" again; no longer are we confined to what happened in the Prime timeline. WE are WRITING history, as we speak.

What is ASR: ORIGINS?

Alt.StarFleet.RPG: ORIGINS (or ASR: ORIGINS) is a shared-fiction, play-by-e-mail role-playng game. Using email, ORIGINS players create an interactive fiction universe based on the 2009 Star Trek movie in the year 2260. Players create characters and, along with other players, develop stories set around the missions of the classic Constitution-class starships of the era, and the various beings that inhabit them. ORIGINS, founded in 2009, has grown to 4 role-playing units, involving almost 40 players. It continues to draw players new and old.
