ORIGINS: USS Intrepid- Current Mission Outline

The INTREPID's first mission involved a visit to a remote Federation dilithium mining colony in search of a missing freighter. Once there, the crew discovered that a small force of Klingons had taken over the colony and was attempting to steal a shipment of dilithium. There was close-quarters fighting. Punches were thrown. Finally the crew of the INTREPID were able to liberate the colony and save most of the colonists. Loose ends: A ship that the Klingon Trang insisted be destroyed by the INTREPID managed to escape. The INTREPID's second mission took her to the planet Altura, a lush, Class-M planet that had been scanned from long range several months earlier. Their mission, to explore the planet, catalog its flora and fauna, and determine if it was suitable for colonization. While the planet initially looks ideal, it turns out that there are plants on the planet that produce pollen that lowers inhibition. Commander Kimura gets violent, and Lieutenant Farralon gets coordinated and finds love. Eventually Doctor McMasters develops a vaccine that allows the crew to work on the surface and complete their scientific mission. The INTREPID's next mission began just as things were wrapping up on Altura. The INTREPID is dispatched to investigate the attack by an unknown assailant on the USS KEPLER. Once on scene, the INTREPID gets bogged down by nanoparticles that are pulled into the engines. The INTREPID is attacked by two ships, and is out maneuvered. Captain Stern leads a strike team to disable one of their attackers. In the meantime, Commander Ren, while leading a team to explore the damaged KEPLER, activates the self destruct and steers it toward the other attacker. Loose ends: Who are the Gorn and what motivates them. Significant awards: The "Zero, Zero, Destruct Zero" Award was presented to Tim Cook (Commander Karzin Ren) for the first use of the self destruct in ORIGINS.
