RT0910- CINCSF Report

From StarFleet Bureau of Information
CINCSF Report

Assembled Delegates,

It's that time of the year again to give the CINCSF report to the Round Table.

I am so proud of ASR and her members. We have managed to continue to keep our
writing club alive and well. ASR has made some new changes these past six
months. These changes were good ones that expanded our horizons and opened up a
new Fleet `Origins' and brought in new writers. Since April our posting has
improved, somewhat. We have had some highs and lows, which was to be expected.
In June and July, we had awesome posting numbers spun off from a fun competition
between Origins and Prime. Way to go people! * high fives all around *

It has been an honor and pleasure being ASR's CINCSF for the past six months.
Real life has kept me pretty busy but I still managed to find time to take care
of business. I enjoyed working with all of you. Many of you have touched my life
in many ways. Thank you for making my run as CINCSF grand.

Anna has been a great asset to me and always answered emails promptly. She
always lets me know when she was going on leave etc. Even when her husband was
badly injured she managed to come back and work for ASR. I know in the beginning
it was hard work, especially with Origins opening up, but now she is a pro and
can handle anything that comes her way. Thank you Anna for sticking it out and
learning the ropes. I also want to thank you for always being here when I needed
you, for your input and your calm presence. No one could ask for a better CSFO.
I know the next CINCSF will be glad to have you.

It is true we have not had many new people joining like in the old days, but we
did manage to open a new Fleet -Origin. Scott Lusby had a brilliant idea and
shared it with us. He did majority of the hard work to get it off the ground and
he did it in an amazing short time. Tim Soward also helped as well. They
recruited hard and what started as out as a simplistic idea for a new Unit free
thread, grew into leap and bounds beyond what we had anticipated. Origin
started out with a bang and is still functioning on a regular basis. Thank you
Scott for not retiring permanently and for helping bring renewed energy and
excitement to ASR. I also want to thank Scott for always being there for me and
helping me in each position I have served on in ASR. I was very green behind the
ears and he was always gave me support and was quick to answer emails whenever I
had a question or concern.

I would like to thank Mary McNeely and her Silver Fleet. This Fleet is such a
powerhouse and really challenges all the other units. She puts a great deal of
time and energy into her writers as well as being the main power writer who
posts more than anyone in the club. She is more than just a Fleet commander to
her writers, she puts her writers under her wing and they become family. Her
imaginative plots keeps her writers interested and excited to write. Thank you
Mary for all the work you do in keeping ASR alive. I also want to thank Mary for
being there for me during my up and downs in real life and making me laugh my
ass off when life threw me lemons. Thank for encouraging me to continue writing
even when the inspiration was gone.

Jeff Jenkins is a legendary figure in ASR. I see him as our George Washington of
ASR. I know he is very busy in real life but he managed to bring his Blue Fleet
alive as well. He has gotten writers who have not written in a while to get back
into the swing of things again. And of course without Jeff, ASR would be
completely lost without his web master abilities. He is the go to man when it
come to his amazing knowledge of the Star Trek Universe. His input has always
been a major asset to ASR. When I first met him I was intimated by his legendary
role in ASR but he always treated me with courtesy and kindness. I want to thank
Jeff for always being patient and encouraging during my run as CSFO and CINCSF.

Tim Cooke has been working hard behind the scenes trying to get Gold Fleet back
into action. This has not been an easy task. It is hard to take over a Fleet
that has fizzled out and its writers are having real life issues. Doesn't help
when we haven't had new players joining to help him with replacements. Hopefully
the new CINCSF will be more successful in helping him out in that area so that
he can resurrect Gold in the next six months. Thanks for hanging in there Tim.

ALL of the CO's and or XO's have worked really hard these past six months trying
to revitalize the club. It's work that goes on behind the scenes and is rarely
given much praise or recognition. So I want to take this time to do so right
now. I want to thank you all for giving your time to the club working with
writers, assisting your FC's and so many more things that you do to help your
unit. You All have helped keep ASR alive. Thank you for remaining loyal and
dedicated to ASR. You have made my six months run as CINCSF rewarding.

Today, I am resigning my CINCSF post. This will now trigger a special election
and we will be electing a new CINCSF. I will remain chair through the election
until the end of Round Table.

I have loved every moment of it and am proud and ready to hand it over to our
new CINCSF who will hopefully be more successful at reviving and bring in new
players. After much thought, I have decided not to completely retire from ASR. I
realized that if I did, then I would miss all the wonderful friends, comrades
and writers of ASR. ASR has become such a major part of my life and is like a
family to me. I can't imagine not being a part of the club or its members who
hold a special place in my heart.

God Bless you all.

Respectfully Submitted,

Lena Rose
